His father Sunil Silva work as a Ground boy whereas his mother sold flowers near the temples in the early days. Pathum started his career back in his school days when he scored a Double century (205 runs) against President’s college in the School Cricket Championship. He played unbeatable innings for his school. In January 2019, he was named in Sri Lanka A’s squad for the first-class series against Ireland A. where he scored 258 runs in2 matches and was a leading run scorer in the game.
