    Keshav Maharaj Full Biography

    The slow left-arm off-spinner whose roots are from Indian-origin named Keshav Maharaj had represented South Africa in all three formats. Maharaj made his First-Class debut at the teenage age of just 16 for KwaZulu-Natal in season 2006–07. Playing for Dolphins in FC cricket, he ended season with 44 first-class wickets at an average of 26.18 in 2014-2015.

    His terrific performances with the ball earned him a spot on the South African side. He made his Test debut in Perth against Australia in 2016 and played as a specialist spinner. Later he made his ODI debut against England and T20I debut against Sri Lanka in 2017. Maharaj’s ability to bat lower down the order provides great stability in the batting lineup. so that’s the reason Maharaj was named International Newcomer of the Year at Cricket South Africa’s annual awards which held in 2017.
