Hailed from the sports city of Pakistan from which gives big names to Pakistan Cricket, Adbullah Shafique already had the influence of cricket from his family. Abdullah started playing cricket early as his father used to teach him basics. Later he joined the Amir Waseem Cricket Academy sialkot where stepped into the professional age group cricket. He represented his city at U-16 & U-19 level and performed expectionally well.
Abdullah Shafique is techniquely solid and composed just like captain Babar Azam.Due to his resembleness with Babar Azam, experts and cricket fans call him “chota Babar”. Abdullah was directly selected into the squad without much domestic experience. He mad his T20I debut against New Zealand in the absence of Babar Azam against the likes of Boult and Southee. Failed in debut series, butt selectors kept him in the squad so that he can absorb pressure of higher level. He made his Test debut against Bangladesh where he score 52 and 73 in debut match and impressed everyone with batting potential.
