Hamid Hassan Full Biography
Hailed from the war-torn region, Hamid Hassan started his early days in cricket while playing in the streets of Pakistan while living in refugee camps in Peshawar. Later he and his family went back to Afghanistan. Hamid initially started his club cricket in 2002 with the support of his elder brother. Being tall and speedy, Hamid’s first international assignment was ACC Under 17 Trophy in 2003.
Time after time he proved himself as the backbone of Afghanistan’s fast bowling. Hamid was part of Afghanistan’s squad for the 2009 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, which was the first time ever when Afghanistan had participated in that campaign. He took six scalps in two games in the run.
Hamid took 12 wickets throughout the ICC 2010 T20 World Cup Qualifiers while bowling mostly at death overs. He is one of those veteran Afghanistan’s cricketers who has lifted afghan cricket from the bottom. In recent times, he represented Afghanistan in ICC 2019 World Cup and ICC T20 World Cup.
