    Lahore-born right-handed top-order batsman named Imran Butt made his first-class debut early at the age of just 17. In his debut innings, he scores fifty plus and proved his worth irrespective of age. Pakistan’s veteran Mohsin Kamal picked him in U-19 trials and kept a close eye on him. However, he kept studying along with playing cricket and he secures a B.com degree from the University of Central Punjab Lahore Campus.

    After the gap of several years, Imran Butt came into the limelight in Quaid-e-Azam trophy 2019-20 where he grabbed the eyeballs of national Coach Misbah ul Haq. He smashed 934 runs in 9 matches with help of four hundred and finished as the leading run-scorer in the tournament. These performances earned him a spot in the squad for the tour of New Zealand but not included in the playing eleven. Again he was included in the squad for the home series against South Africa. As with the exclusion of Shan Masood, finally, his wait comes to end, and handed over the debut cap. Though he didn’t perform well in the debut series still he’s in the future plans of MisbahUlHaq.
