On September 24, 2023, India posted their highest total against Australia in ODIs, scoring 399/5 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. The match was the second of a three-match ODI series between the two teams.
India got off to a flying start, with openers Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer scoring centuries. Gill was particularly aggressive, smashing 104 runs off just 97 balls. Iyer was more aggressive and scored 105 runs off 90 balls.
After Gill and Iyer were dismissed, Indian Captain KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav continued the onslaught. Rahul scored 52 runs off 38 balls, while Yadav scored 72 runs off 37 balls. India eventually finished their innings on 399/5, the highest total they have ever scored against Australia in ODIs. Now Australia is yet to bat.
