The Durban-born tall 6’5″ aggressive fast bowler named Lungi Ngidi is the Pillar of the South African fast Bowling side alongside Kagiso
Rabada and Anrich Nortje. Lungi used to be a rugby player before pursuing his career in cricket. Apart from sports, he is a well-educated guy who has done a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Industrial Sociology at the University of Pretoria. He made his First-Class debut in 2016 for the Northerns cricket team. His consistency with the line and length and height factor attracted CSA and other cricket Pundits and that’s the reason He was named as one of eight players to watch by the ICC ahead of the IPL 2019.
Lungi was first drafted into the South African side to face Sri Lanka during the home series in 2017. He made his Test and ODI debut against India in 2018 in the home series. He claimed 7 wickets against India in his test debut. Lungi holds the record for the fastest South African to get 50 ODI wickets and
he achieved this feat in 26 games. In franchise cricket, he has represented CSK in IPL.
