    Mehtab Hossain is an Indian professional footballer and coach. He was born 5 September 1985 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He last performed for Madan Maharaj FC as a defensive midfielder.

    Throughout his career, Hossain has performed for both of the Kolkata football giants, Mohun Bagan and East Bengal. He performed with East Ben for ten seasonal, winning the Federation Cup 3-times. Between 2005 and 2014Hossain also managed to gain 31 caps for the India national football team, securing twice for the country. In 2019, He began his coaching career as a manager at Southern Samity in the 2019-20 Calcutta Premier Division. After then he joined Bharatiya Janata Party on 21 July 2020 by getting the party flag from BJP president of West Bengal Dilip Ghosh, but across 24 hours, he turned his decision and resigned.

    Mehtab Hossain Earlier Life – 

    Mehtab begun his career with Tollygunge Agragami in 2001. He, in the beginning, performed as an attacking midfielder. He represents ONGC and the Bengal giants Mohun Bagan From 2003-2007. In all of that time, the midfielder grew his position and improved his performance with each passing match.

    His wife is Moumita Hussain, and he also has one child.

    Mehtab Hossain Career –

    Mehtab first played for India back in 2005. In June 2012, he was on trial with Falkirk, Airdrie, and Exeter City F.C. on the advice of his former teammate Alan Gow.

    In their last but one match, On 8 May at Kolkata he secured his first goal in the 2012–13 I-League in the 6–0 win against United Sikkim F.C. Then he secured the 5–1 succeed in Round of 16 matches in 2013 AFC Cup game against Yangon United F.C. on 15 May 2013 at Kolkata.

    Mehtab retired from international duty after being left out from the 26-man team for World Cup Qualifiers In 2015.

    He had over 400 appearances in his career at 6-Indian clubs.
