Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni became the first Performer to captain an IPL franchise in 200 matches. Dhoni reached his monumental feat as he walked out to the toss against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, April 12.
One of India’s and CSK’s biggest captains, Dhoni has led the Super Kings to four IPL titles and 9 finals in their 13-year past history. MSD has a winning share of 61 as captain of the franchise, having victory 120 of their 199 Games.
Before the toss, MS Dhoni was congratulated by Chennai Super Kings(CSK) owner and former chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) N Srinivasan, who delivered over a memento to Dhoni for this unbelievable achievement.
The 41-year-old has been CSK’s skipper since the league’s beginning in 2008 till date, except for a brief term in 2022, when Ravindra Jadeja was appointed as skipper. With Dhoni at the helm, the Super Kings are off to a good start this season, winning 2 of their first 3 matches.
Dhoni has also secured more than 5,000 runs in his distinguished IPL career at a terrific average of 39 and a strike rate of 135.54.
