In 2011, Pritam Kotal began his football career with Pailan Arrows. After that team was demobilized, He shifted to Mohun Bagan during the 2013-14 season and supported them win the 2015 I-league title with his game. In 2014, Pritam was also among the 84 Indians that were part of the inaugural Indian Super League season and was prepared by Pune city on credit.
After performing for India U19, Kotal went through profitable trials and got selected for an exposure tour to China. Kotal was also joined of the 2012 AFC U19 Championship qualifiers. Over some time, He got promoted to the U23 side.
In the 2015 I-League, Kotal secured his first goal for Mohun Bagan against Pune. After then, In the same season, he secured his goal of the season, which came against Royal Wahingdoh. Eventually, Mohun Bagan achieved their first-ever I-League victory, which received Kotal much popularity.
He performed with former Inter Milan defender Bruno Cirillo, which enhanced his performance. But he didn’t get to perform much there, and in 2016 he shifted to Atletico de Kolkata and was again drafted by Delhi Dynamos in the upcoming season.

Kotal began his international career with India at the U-19 level. After successfully going through a trial, Kotal was selected into the team that went on an exposure tour to China before performing for the side during the 2012 AFC U-19 match qualifiers, which India was unsuccessful in making.
He then performed for the U-22 side during Oman’s 2013 AFC U-22 Match qualifiers. Kotal was then part of the under-23 side to being a part of the 2014 Asian Games in South Korea. Kotal’s role with the under-23 side was maintained further, as he was a part of the 2015’s India team that took part in the 2016 AFC U-23 Match qualifiers in Bangladesh.
