Born and raised in Jodhpur, Ravi Bishnoi known for his sharp googlies faced many difficulties in the early days of his career. There was not any proper infrastructure for cricket in his area, so he and his friends built a cricket academy to follow their passion. They mostly do labor work by themselves due to insufficient funds.
He was again and again ignored by selectors in u-16 and u-19 trials but later on finally selected on the ask of his coach. He was the net bowler of the Rajasthan Royals in 2018. In December 2019, he was named in India’s squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup that held in South Africa. He took four wickets without conceding a single run against japan and finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker.
Along with his successful world cup campaign, he was picked up by Kings XI Punjab. He took the debut wicket of Rishabh Pant and ended up the tournament with 12 wickets and got the award of emerging player. He’s on the radar and very close to the eyeballs of selectors to replace Chahal who’s not performing well.
