    The London-born reliable top-order batsman with the capabilities of medium pace bowling named Ravi Bopara has the roots from a Sikh family from India who migrated to the UK before the birth of Ravi Bopara. Coming from the grass-root level, he had represented England in several matches for England U-19s, including in the 2004 U-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his First-Class debut in 2002. he scored 880 first-class runs in the 2005 County Championship which made him easier to get the callup for the English side.

    Bopara was first added to the ODI squad against Australia due to the rib injury of Kevin Pietersen. Bopara was named man of the match in the second match of England against Canada as Bopara scored 52 runs off 53 balls and was part of a crucial partnership with Paul Collingwood. Later he made his Test debut against Sri Lanka and T20I debut against New Zealand. Apart from International cricket, he had played franchise cricket all over the world due to his all round specialities.
