Hailed from the capital city of Pakistan “Islamabad”, a young prolific wicketkeeper-batsman Rohail Nazir emerged as the leader in ICC U-19 World Cup held in South Africa. He scores decently with the bat and took his team to the finals. Came from the streets of Islamabad, he joined the famous Diamond Cricket Club at the age of 15 and later started appearing in the trials under the mentorship of Moid Sheikh.
He made his first-class debut for Islamabad in Quaid-e-Azam trophy season 2018-19, scoring 130 in the first innings. Gradually progressing step by step he was drafted in by Multan Sultans in 2020 PSL and again picked up by Islamabad United for 2021 PSL in the Emerging Category. In 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh.[11] He ended up in the tournament as the leading run-scorer in the tournament, with 302 runs in five matches including a match-winning ton in the final against hosts. In November 2020, he was named in Pakistan’s 35-man squad for the tour of New Zealand. As there’s already competition between Sarfaraz Ahmad and Mohammad Rizwan, it seems like this lad had to wait a bit and perform consistently to replace them.
