Team India captain Rohit Sharma and Pakistan captain Babar Azam met in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, ahead of the Captain’s Day for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. The two captains were all smiles as they posed for photographs and interacted with each other.
The meeting between Sharma and Azam was seen as a positive sign for the relations between the two cricket boards. India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since 2012, but they have been meeting regularly in ICC events in recent years.
The captains of all ten participating teams are expected to attend the Captain’s Day event on Thursday, October 5. The event will feature a photo session and a press conference.
