Subrata Pal graduate from the Tata Football Academy, Pal began his senior career with Mohun Bagan in 2004. In the 2004 Federation Cup final against Dempo on 5 December 2004, Subrata was involved in an occurrence where Dempo forward Cristiano Júnior lost his life later the 2 collided. Although, the shocking lack of equipment and doctors during the match was featured as a result of the incident and this led to significant developments in the I-League.
On 23 July 2017, Pal was preferred in the 2nd round of the 2017–18 ISL Performers Draft by Jamshedpur for the 2017–18 Indian Super League season. Subrata made his debut for the club in their first-time game on 18 November 2017 against Pal’s former club, North East United. He began the game and kept the clean sheet as Jamshedpur drew the game 0–0.
After the season was completed, Subrata was awarded the Indian Super League Golden Glove Reward. After one month it was announced that he had been retained by the club for the 2018–19 season.

Subrata Pal International career –
Subrata has performed for India at all the tracks groups. Pal rose to eminence with the Under-23 team in the Pre-Olympic qualifiers where he drew off three 7 in a crucial penalty shootout against Myanmar hence allowing India to allow for the Group stage. In the group stages, his goalkeeping capabilities contributed to India pulling off a sudden draw at home against the formidable Iraq.
In 2007, he changed Sandip Nandy as the Indian Senior Team’s Number One for the Nehru Cup 2007 where he was declared the best goalkeeper in a competing field which included the desires of Mosab Balhous.
On 11 March 2015, He was appointed the skipper of the Indian national football team by coach Stephen Constantine. Under his captaincy, the team reached the 2nd round after winning Nepal on the collection of 2–0 in the first round of qualification.
