Tabraiz Shamsi Full Biography
The Left arm maestro chinnaman spinner named Tabraiz Shamsi is one of the most feared spinners in the world right now and that’s the reason he is the number one in ICC T20I Bowlers Ranking. He started playing cricket initially as a seam bowler with a variety of cutters but his coach denied him and asked him to bowl leg-spin and this is how he transformed himself into a Left-arm Chinnaman bowler. He made his First-Class debut way back in 2009 but he started getting recognition from 2015 onwards. He ended up in multiple domestic tournaments as the leading wicket-takers which led him to the National side in 2006.
Shamsi made his Test and ODI debut against Australia in 2016 and T20I debut against England in 2017. He credited veteran Imran Tahir for his improvement in bowling. Following the retirement of Imran Tahir, he evolved himself as the first-choice spinner for Cricket South Africa. He topped the ICC T20I ranking in 2021 following the conclusion of the T20I series against Pakistan. Apart from International cricket, he has impressive outings in CPL and IPL where he played for Virat Kohli’s RCB while replacing another leg spinner Samuel Badree.
