The right-hand aggressive wicketkeeper-batsman named Tom Blundell represented New Zealand in U-19 World Cup 2010. although he made his first-class debut in 2010, he had to wait too long to find his place on the national side to replace the likes of Bj Watling, Luke Ronchi, Mccullum, and Tom Latham. After his incredible outings in the 2016-17 super smash season where he scores 243 in 9 innings, he was called up for the national squad to face Bangladesh due to the injury of Luke Ronchi.
Again he had to wait a bit to be the regular member of the squad. He was given the opportunity against West Indies in a Test match, in his debut innings he scored an unbeaten century and that is the highest score of New Zeanalnder wicketkeeper in his debut inning. He was named in ICC World Cup 2019 squad but unable to find a place in playing eleven. He also scored a century against Australia in MCG in a Boxing Day Test Match. Since then, he has been a prominent member of the squad.
