- Yash Dhull started playing cricket at the age of 6 when his mother saw the spark in him when he was doing shadow practice without the bat. It so ensued that Yash saw boys older than him performing cricket. He also encouraged them to join them, but they refused. His mother was observing the entire scene from the balcony. Then she decided to take him to a Bal Bhawan cricket academy and enroll him there. From thereon, his practice started.
- His father(Vijay Dhull) worked as the executive of a cosmetic brand in Delhi, India but had to give up his career to pursue his son’s passion for cricket. During an interview, he said, “I had to ensure he got the best kit and gear to play from an early age. I gave him the best of English willow bats. He didn’t have just one bat, and I kept upgrading them. We had cut down on our expenses. My father was an army man. The pension that he received was used to run the household. Yash would always wonder how we were managing it.”
