Born and raised in Pakistan before moving to Oman for better opportunities, Zeeshan Maqsood is now the Captain of the Oman Cricket team. In the initial days of his cricketing career, Zeeshan had played domestic cricket in Pakistan for the Multan region. after realizing that it’s impossible to represent Pakistan due to that much competition. Then he decided to move to Oman to try his luck. so luckily he got the opportunity to represent Oman at a higher level.
The left-hand opening batter with solid technique is usually known for his anchor role in the team. Zeeshan usually plays slow and tries to bat till the end to get the desired target. apart from batting, Zeeshan also bowls left-arm orthodox with a flatter trajectory to deceive batsmen. He made his T20I debut against Afghanistan in 2015 and after a wait of 4 years, he made his ODI debut in 2019 against Namibia. However, he’s been leading Oman team on regular basis and can be great prospect in near future.
