I. M. Vijayan is a former Indian footballer born on April 25 1969, in Thrissur, Kerala, India. He plays as a striker in Kerala Police Football Academy. His full name is Inivalappil Mani Vijayan, and he is the most-capped player and the all-time top goalscorer for the India team.

In 1993, 1997 and 1999, he formed a profitable attacking partnership with Bhaichung Bhutia for the Indian national team as he performed in the striker position. After Vijayan was awarded the Indian player, becoming him the first Performer to have won the award several times. Subsequently, Vijayan represented India in 79 games and secured over 40 goals; Vijayan retired from international cricket in 2004. After that, he set up a training academy for kids in his town.

Vijayan began as a soda vendor in the Thrissur Municipal Corporation Stadium, Kerala, India earning ten paise. Regarding his nationality, Vijayan is Indian. In 1994, Vijayan joined JCT Mills Phagwara and remained with them for three additional years until 1997, although he left JCT to join F.C. Kochin. After completing one year with the club, he moved once more to Mohun Bagan in 1998, his 3rd spell with the club, and returned to F.C. Kochin in 1999. After some time, he joined East Bengal in 2005, his last professional football club as a working footballer. Vijayan left East Bengal in the year 2006. In the 2020-21 Season, I.M. Vijayan performed for the Gokulam Kerala Futsal Team.

I. M. Vijayan began his career with the Kerala police, and after that, he shifted with Mohun Bagan. He returned to Kerala Police in 1992 and hit back to Mohun Bagan the upcoming year. Vijayan also played for East Bengal club, JCT and F.C. Kochin in his club career.

Though he consumed his entire career in India before retirement, He attracted occupy from clubs in Malaysia and Thailand due to his ability. He secured a total of 240 goals in his whole club career. East Bengal club was the last club that Vijayan played.
