Suryakumar Yadav revealed what Mumbai Indians (MI) were missing from their batting line-up. His fantastic fifty against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) supported his team to put on a competitive total of 161/4 in their 20 overs.
The 31-year-old missed the first two matches for MI as he was recovering from an injury. Although, as soon as he was back, he showed no signs of inability and secured a blistering 52 off 36 balls.
Fans on Twitter were thrilled to see the Mumbai Indians(MI) stars back at their best. Here are some of the fan’s reactions:
Missed out one month of cricket due to injury, rehab at Nca, Mumbai lost first 2 matches, they were 45 for 2 at the 8th over in the 3rd match and then he smashed fifty from 34 balls. What a comeback, SKY.

Suryakumar Yadav, Pollard ability MI to 161/4
However, sides batting first in Pune have been all right so far this season; Shreyas Iyer was keen to put MI toward bat after winning the toss. The decision seemed to be good for KKR as pacers Umesh Yadav and young Rasikh Dar started very well in the powerplay.
Rohit Sharma struggled against the swing and leap and was dismissed for just three. Dewald Brevis showed to bat and made his target clear. He took the strike to the KKR bowlers and proved why he is considered a special skill.
Bravis smashed a ‘no-look’ 6-off the bowling of Varun Chakravarthy, but his innings were brief as the spinner had the last laugh. Ishan Kishan, too, didn’t get going, and it was down to Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma to take Mumbai Indians to a respective total.
Until the 15-over score, Suryakumar was finding it tough to time the ball well regularly. Although, the 31-year-old exploded in the final 5-overs and got great help from Varma at the other end.
When Suryakumar Yadav went for 52 in the last over, it seemed KKR would pull things back. Although, Kieron Pollard smashed 22 runs off five balls to set a competitive focus of 162.
KKR will still back itself to chase the total down. Although, they will begin well. However, MI will know that the first wickets will give them an advantage.
