Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is going through one of the worst batting patches in his professional career. His form has been a very common talking point in the recent times.
The star player will return to action after almost a month in the match for the Asia Cup 2022.
It has been reported that Kohli will use a special kind of bat for the upcoming series. it is a premium Gold Wizard quality bat which is sponsored by the company MRF.
The bat is made of luxurious English willow wood, which costs at least INR 22,000.
Kohli, at the moment, is suffereing with the bat as he goes through one of the worst phases in his career. Regarded as one of the best batsman of his generation, the former India captain averages just about 25 across formats this year in international cricket.
This is the worst in his career for any calendar year. His previous low of 31.80 came way back in 2008, which was his debut year.
“He is one of the greatest of all time, not this era”: Wasim Akram
Former Pakistan skipper and one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time, Wasim Akram came forward in defence of Kohli and said that the criticism received by him is unnecessary.
“He is one of the greatest of all time, not just in this era. He is still fit as a fiddle. He is still one of the best fielders in the Indian squad. As they say, class is forever, and that is Virat Kohli,” said Akram in a press conference held by Star Sports. “Hope he doesn’t come back to form against Pakistan, but he will come back eventually.”
