The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given a piece of injury information on pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi. The PCB’s Chief Medical Officer has recommended the star bowler undergo a 2-week rehabilitation after maintaining an injury during the T20 World Cup 2022 final against England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday, 13 November.
The 22-year-old injured his knee as he landed clumsily while taking Harry Brook’s catch in the 13th over of England’s innings.
The survey, which took position on Monday, November 14, before the team bygone from Australia, established that there were no signs of injury. The knee pain was likely due to a ‘knee flexion whilst landing’.

The scans were later talked between PCB’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Najeebullah Soomro and Australian knee expert, Dr. Peter D’Alessandro. The left-arm fast bowler is reportedly believed better and is in high spirits. After coming back to Pakistan, he will undergo a rehabilitation and training program designed to increase his knee at the National best-Performance Centre in Lahore.
Although, Afridi’s injury could mean he is improbable to be available for the home Test series against England in December. Right-arm cricketer Haris Rauf, who is yet to perform a Test, is probably to replace him.
