Sri Lanka head coach Mickey Arthur has confessed that it isn’t ideal for his side to head into an outside Test tour on the back of a long T20 tournament.
Sri Lanka has just arrived in South Africa for a two-match Test series that thrill off on boxing day (December 26) with most of their players featuring in the inaugural LPL that concluded only on December 16. As a result, the team has had a very short time to enter Test match mode.
“It’s not ideal,” Arthur allows in a virtual press convention.

According to the former South Africa Coach, These two tests can help Sri Lana to take a lot of confidence into the home test series against England. Also, he said “Every series is highly important for us,”
Because where we are in the phase with this team, it is important to keep better and we want to make consistency around selections and roles. The one thing that I always know which is very important is that if you play well and you get some wins along the line, no matter of situation you take confidence. And confidence is a very powerful key for any within a playing group.
“So if we can take that confidence into the England series, it’ll be remarkable for us. But this South Africa series is huge for us.
