Former Indian Player Aakash Chopra is positive that the hosts will secure a huge first-innings against Australia in the 4th Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Ahmedabad.
Australia secured a massive 480 runs in their primary essay and batted for almost 2 days. Although, Chopra thinks that the pitch is a belter and the Indian batters will enjoy performing their shots by confident the surface.
In a video shared on his YouTube channel, here’s what Aakash Chopra had to tell about India’s answer to Australia’s first-innings runs:
“I think the aridity of scores from the Indian top order will end soon. I think there will be at least 2-3 hundred and one of them could also be two a hundred.
“If India runs somewhere around 600 and bat till the end of Day 4, they can trigger Australia’s collapse and possibly. But largely it thinks like a result here is not happen.”
Chopra further clarified why he felt a result didn’t appear likely on the benign Ahmedabad pitch. He said:
“2nd days of performers are done and now, only ten wickets have crashed in the Test. If our quality of bowlers and our 5-bowler theory can take 2 whole days to pick ten wickets, I think it will be tougher for the Australians to bowl us out. I feel this match will go end in a stalemate.”
India concluded Day 2 of the Ahmedabad Test on 36/0, tracking the Aussies by 444 runs.
