Ind vs Eng. | Crowds will be allowed for second Chennai Test

    By Naman Saxena

The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, on Tuesday (February 2), declared that crowds would be allowed – up to 50% of the stadium capacity – inside the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai for the 2nd Test between India and England, set to be played from February 13.

The stadium in Chepauk will be close for the audience for the first Test of the 4-match series.

“The first Test Match between India and England being held between 5th and 9th February 2021 will be played behind shut down doors without spectators as a precautionary measure for COVID-19 circumstance,” TNCA, the host association of the initial two Tests, stated in a relief.

    UPDATE:
In view of the Government announcement that 50% occupancy would be allowed in stadia, #TNCA will allow 50% spectators for the second Test between India and England.

“Considering government announcement that fifty percent occupancy would be allowed in the stadium, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association will allow 50% audience for the second Test to be held between 13th and 17th February 2021.”

The upcoming series against England will be India’s first international assignment in the country since the spate of the COVID-19 pandamic.

However, it is the last match they said that The Test matches the India-England series being played behind closed doors. And the Government clearly states that The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association informers its members that no crowds would be allowed in the MA Chidambaram stadium.

Recently Indian Government allows that outdoor sport to be conducted with 50% spectators of the stadium’s total capacity. However, The TNCA overlooks the rule and does not allow any spectators in the Matches.
