The 7-times Asia Cup champion India is ready to bring the trophy back home once again, India will open the Asia Cup campaign against their arch-rivals Pakistan on 2nd September in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka was the champion of the 2022 Asia Cup T20 which was played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium dated September 11, 2022, While Pakistan was the runner-up for the 2022 Asia Cup.
India has lifted the Cup 7 times ( 1984 opening of Asia Cup, 1988, 1990, 1995, 2010, 2016, 2018) while Sri Lanka has won 6 times ( 1986, 1997, 2004, 2008, 2014, 2022) and Pakistan has won it 2 times ( 2000, 2012)
India won its last Asia Cup trophy in 2018 under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, while Pakistan won its last trophy in 2012 under Misbah-ul-Haq.
Six teams are participating in the Asia Cup and are divided into two groups of three teams each. The tournament will follow a hybrid model which will start from August 30 to September 17.

Group B: Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka
