England cricketer Jos Buttler has backed legendary seamer James Anderson to play a very important role in the 2021 Ashes as well as also at home next summer when he will complete age of 40.
Anderson has been lost to England’s 12-men team for the Ashes opener at the Gabba. That is why the management aims to manage the capacity of the veteran seamer amid a gruelling plan that will see the visitors playing 5 Tests in the upcoming 40 days.
Talking to Daily Mail UK ahead of the Gabba Test, Buttler has supported the ageless Lancashire bowler to keep the excellent work he has done for many years.
“It seems that age is just a number for Jimmy. He’s in fantastic shape, his skills are brilliant as always and he still seems to be trying to improve and learn new things,” said Buttler.
“That hunger doesn’t seem to be wavering at all. He still gets just as grumpy if he bowls a bad ball, and that competitiveness is incredibly high in anything he does, let alone on a cricket field” Buttler added.
Butler describes his expectations of Anderson to be around for a while, as the cricketer is still going strong and enjoying the match. He said:
“I certainly see him wanting to continue as long as he can, and there doesn’t feel like there’s anything in the way of him doing that at the moment.”
England confirm Jimmy Anderson won't play the 1st Test, but say he is fit to play. They want him in Adelaide https://t.co/T0b1TYsap7 pic.twitter.com/npY4Ptlf6l

Some reports come that Anderson picked up a calf injury. But England’s management nudged off the story, telling that the speaker would always miss the opening Test at the Gabba in Brisbane.
