Kuldeep Yadav became the first Indian spinner after Sachin Tendulkar to take a 5-wicket haul in men’s ODIs against Pakistan, as India won the match by 228 runs in the Asia Cup Super 4 on Monday.
Yadav took 5 for 25 in 8 overs, including the wickets of Mohammad Rizwan, and Fakhar Zaman. He also dismissed Iftikhar Ahmed, Salman Ali Agha and Shadab Khan. Pakistan were bowled out for 128 in 32 overs, in reply to India’s 356 for 2.

The 27-year-old from Uttar Pradesh is now the fifth Indian bowler to take a five-wicket haul against Pakistan in ODIs. The others are Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Arshad Ayub, and Venkatesh Prasad. Yadav’s performance was a major factor in India’s win, and it will be interesting to see if he can maintain his form in the upcoming matches of the Asia Cup.
