The team has won five IPL titles, which is the highest by any team in the Indian Premier League history. Mumbai Indians became the IPL Champions and lift the trophy in the years 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. Rohit Sharma has been made the Captain again for IPL 2023 and the team has retained him for Rs. 16 crore. Mumbai Indians team is acquired by Reliance Industries Limited which means that Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani are the owners of this IPL team. Mukesh Ambani bought this team for $111.9 million.

They repeated the same heroic tactics this time as they spent Rs. 17.50 crores on Australian all-rounder Cameron Green. After a long bidding war with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians ultimately got their hands on the big player.

Cameron Green, who is an Australian Cricketer, became the 2^nd most expensive player in the IPL Auction 2023. The base price of this amazing player in the IPL Auction was Rs. 2 crore, but he broke the records in the IPL Auction. Apart from Cameron Green, Mumbai Indians also included Jhye Richardson at a Base Price of Rs. 1.5 crore. 

Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians have always spent their money wisely during the IPL Auctions. If we talk about the IPL 2023 auction, they have Rs. 20.55 crores left in their purse, with 9 slots to be filled which also includes 3 overseas or foreign players. They didn’t perform well in the previous IPL season as Mumbai Indians finished their campaign at the bottom slot of the points table.

But this time things are going to change as Mumbai Indians outshined themselves at the IPL 2023 Auctions that took place in Kochi on 23rd December 2022. They already had big popular players like Jasprit Bumrah, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jofra Archer on their team. And with the addition of Cameron Green to the Mumbai Indians squad, made their team stronger than other teams in IPL. The upcoming 16th edition of IPL is going to be a big event for Mumbai Indians. 

Mumbai Indians have won five IPL titles and two Champions Leagues titles over the past few years. Rohit Sharma has been an outstanding captain for this team. In the previous year’s IPL Auction, Ishan Kishan stood out as Mumbai Indians gave everything to bring him back to their side. He then went on to become the most expensive player of IPL 2022 as Mumbai Indians bought them for Rs. 15.25 crores.
