After spending his early days in Pakistan his family came back to Afghanistan. Naveen started playing tennis ball cricket in the streets on weekends. Naveen appeared in trials and get selected by bowling just 3 balls. as a result, started playing proper leather ball cricket.
He was made it into the national side at such early age of 17. He was given the responsibility to lead Afghanistan in U-19 World Cup 2018 in New Zealand. Bowling with medium pace, Naveen usually bowls a mixture of slower Yorkers and bouncers. Apart from playing for the national side, Naveen played in several cricketing leagues around the globe like CPL, BPL, LPL, and T10 so that he gain experience. He came to rise in CPL when he took 4/14 against patriots.
