ICC has denied the report and clarified that they don’t have any plans of shifting the 2024 T20 World Cup from WI, US, Earlier there were rumours that ICC will move from USA/WI to ENG/SCO/IRE considering the uncertainties in the administrative functioning of USA Cricket.
“There is absolutely no truth to reports that the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be moved from the West Indies and the USA. Since the event is organized by the ICC, their statement must be taken as binding and conclusive,” the ECB spokesperson was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
“Venue inspections have recently been concluded in both host territories, and planning for the event in June 2024 is in full swing,” an ICC spokesperson was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
This is the first time that a total of 20 teams will take part in the tournament consisting of 55 matches. Cricket West Indies and USA Cricket had submitted a joint bid to host the tournament and were awarded the hosting rights after preparing for the tournament for two years.
