    In the first T20I match against West Indies during the second innings when India was batting Kuldeep Yadav was bowled by Romario Shepherd in the first ball of the 20th over India required 10 runs off 5 balls with two wickets remaining. Suddenly Chahal entered the ground but was called by coach Rahul Dravid and captain Hardik Pandya as they wanted Mukesh Kumar to go for batting, The leg-spinner is least known for his batting tried to walk back but he was stopped by the Umpires.

    What does the ICC Rule 25.2 say?

    According to the rules, if a batsman enters the field to play, he can’t go back and send another unless They/he is willing to retire hurt.

    ICC Rule 25.2

    “Commencement of a batsman’s innings  The innings of the first two batsmen, and that of any new batsman on the resumption of play after a call of Time, shall commence at the call of Play. At any other time, a batsman’s innings shall be considered to have commenced when that batsman first steps onto the field of play.”
