The issue of ICC chairmanship will be up for conversation when the BCCI contains its Annual General Meeting (AGM), where former India Player Roger Binny will replace Sourav Ganguly as the new Board President on Tuesday(October 18). The election of the later set of office-bearers will be a mere formality as all are fixed to be elected uncontested. Although, the members will deliberate if the BCCI should field a candidate for the ICC chair or promote incumbent Greg Barclay for a 2nd term.
The last date for registration of the nominations for the ICC top job is October 20. The ICC Board will get together from November 11-13 in Melbourne(City in Australia). The much-debated go-out of Ganguly from the BCCI has previously garnered attention not just in sporting but in the political arena too and it will be interesting to notice if the former captain is considered for the top job. The other titles doing the rounds include Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and former BCCI president N Srinivasan.
