Bangladesh Cricket Board on Saturday announced their 17-member squad for the upcoming ACC Men’s Asia Cup, The team will play under the leadership of Sakib Al Hasan. Bangladesh will play the first match on 31 August 2023 against Sri Lanka at Kandy, Sri Lanka. Earlier BCB president Nazmul Hassan announced Sakib as the captain of Bangladesh’s men’s National Cricket team.
Nazmul Hassan said:
“Shakib Al Hasan is the captain for the Asia Cup, New Zealand series, and World Cup,” Hassan said.
“Shakib was the obvious choice to captain Bangladesh when the position fell vacant. I am very confident that his exemplary performance, experience, and leadership qualities will galvanise the team as we head into two massive events like the Asia Cup and the World Cup.” He added
