Pakistans Star left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi is returning to the team after the injury, he was named on Pakistan’s squad for the Test series in Sri Lanka next month on Saturday while Muhammad Huraira and Aamir Jamal are also included on the squad, The 16-member squad, led by Babar Azam, will play two Tests in Sri Lanka.
Shaheen Afridi injured his knee while fielding in the T20 World Cup 2022 final. The youngster got into an awkward position while trying to catch Harry Brook’s ball, resulting in his knee injury.
Shaheen Afridi said:
“After missing our entire home season because of the injury I suffered in Sri Lanka, I am eager to make an impactful comeback in the same country and complete a century of wickets in Test cricket,”
“I am very excited to be returning to the Pakistan Test side after a year, I dearly missed Test cricket and it was tough for me to be away from this format,” said Shaheen Afridi.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also announced that former pacer Morne Morkel has been appointed as the bowling coach. The ex-South African has signed a six-month contract.
