The Indian Premier League (TATA IPL 2022) is now done and dusted. Beginners Gujarat Titans lifted the title after defeating the Rajasthan Royals(RR) in the final at Ahmedabad on May 29.
Many regular suspects satisfied their expectations, including both Indian and big players. Although, there were also a few who failed to make an effect and had extremely disappointing seasons.
This article will examine the five biggest cricketers who flopped this TATA IPL 2022 season.
#1 Kieron Pollard
The Mumbai Indians cricketer had a very unsatisfactory season by his standards. He was also dropped midway throughout the season after failing to contribute substantially as Mumbai eventually slid to a last-place finish in TATA IPL 2022.
Pollard completed the season with 144 runs in 11 games at a strike rate of just 107.46 and a maximum score of 25. He picked up 4-wickets with the ball, with best figures of 2/8 against the Lucknow Super Giants(LSG).
#2 Matthew Wade

Though Gujarat Titans(GT) played to the title in their debut IPL season, the wicketkeeper-batter was one of the numbers of below-par play. Wade opened the batting for Gujarat and performed at No. 3 but could muster just 157 runs in 10 innings.
He fell halfway through the season but came back for the final few games, including Qualifier one and the last. Wade had a max score of just 35, which is way below his usual.
#3 Pat Cummins
Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) thought Pat Cummins would be one of their better player in TATA IPL 2022, but the Australia Test skipper couldn’t play to his potential. He began with a whirlwind knock of 15-ball-56 to support the Kolkata franchise defeat of Mumbai Indians(MI) but fizzled out soon after.
His bowling was a major failure as he could pick up just 7-wickets in five games and leaked runs at an economy of 10.69. With the bat, Cummins could add just 7 more runs to his 56-run knock against Mumbai.
#4 Marcus Stoinis

Lucknow Super Giants(LSG) possibly didn’t use Marcus Stoinis correctly, as shown in the Australian’s output. He was exploited everywhere, from No. 4 in the batting order to No. 8, and didn’t get a long run in any of these situations.
The Aussie could collect just 156 runs in 11 games, with the best runs of 38. His bowling was only utilized periodically. Stoinis picked up 4-wickets, with 3 coming in just one encounter against the Knight Riders(KKR).
#5 Kane Williamson
The Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) skipper had one of his whip IPL seasons with the bat and couldn’t lead by the standard as his side failed to qualify for the playoffs.
Williamson secured just 216 runs in 13 games at a strike rate of 93.51. His securing rate affected the rest of the cricketers in the Hyderabad set-up, who were then strained to get runs quickly. The Kiwi star’s last 4 runs of the season were all in single digits.
