The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has convicted Cricket Australia’s decision to cancel their 3-match ODI series against Afghanistan in the game following the India trip. The board published a statement, naming it as unfair and oppositely impacting the growth and development of the sport in the country.
Before Thursday, Cricket Australia (CA) retreated the men’s team from a 3-game ODI rubber against the Asian country in the UAE after an advisory with their government. The purpose is evidence that the Taliban government in Afghanistan banned all university education for girls and illegal women from taking up sports.

The ACB struck CA’s resolution to politicize the sport via a specific statement and fears it would consequence the nation’s love and passion for the match. It added that cricket has performed an integral role in making normalcy in the country and unification, everyone, amid times of trouble. The statement said:
“Cricket Australia’s resolution to withdraw from the next matches against Afghanistan is in the future after consultation and potential implementation from the Australian Government, which is an unlucky attempt to enter the realm of politics and politicize the sport. The judgment to withdraw from playing the coming future ODI series against Afghanistan is unfair and unpredicted, and will have an adverse effect on the development and growth of cricket in the country as well as impact the love and passion of the Afghan nation for the game.”
Also said:
“Cricket has performed a significant role in encouraging unity and national pride in the country. After a few years of war and conflict, cricket has supported bringing people together and providing a sense of normality to the country. It has also been an essential source of hope and inspiration for all Afghans, especially young people. In addition, Cricket (sic) has also been a significant tool for promoting education and social development in the country.”
