Virat Kohli created history by scoring a half-century in his 500th International match on Thursday. Earlier West Indies won the toss and elected to field first.
Batting first Indian opening duo gave a good start with Rohit Sharma scoring 80 off 143 and Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring 57 off 74 which took India’s total to 139 for the first wicket. India lost their 3 wickets within the next 43 runs in the form of Rohit, Shubman and Rahane.
Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja came as a rescue for the Indian team and added 106 runs for the team till the 1st day of the match. Kohli scored an unbeaten on 87 off 161 balls and Jadeja scored unbeaten 36 off 84 balls. India is at 288/4 till the 1st day of the play.

He scored 76 of 182 balls on day 2 of the first Test in Dominica, West Indies and overtook Sehwag’s record of scoring 8,503 runs in 103 Test matches, The 34-year-old has scored 8,515 runs in 109 Test cricket so far. Kohli made his Test debut in 2011. Indian Legend Sachin Tendulkar is on top of the list with 15,921 runs in 200 matches followed by Rahul Dravid with 13,288 in 164 matches, Sunil Gavaskar with 10,122 in 125 matches, V V S Laxman with 8,781 in 134 matches.
