Star Indian batsman Virat Kohli is probably going through one of the most difficult phases in his career as far as his batting is concerned. The formats keep changing but Virat has not been able to find his best form yet, the one for which the world knows him.
His selection in the Indian team has also been an issue of conversation as he has been not selected in the tour of West Indies or the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe. Many experts believe that Virat should have played in those games as these kind of matches are important for a player to find their form especially as the T20 World Cup is approaching.
The former Indian captain is taking a break from the game to rediscover his much-maligned form with the bat over the last couple of years.
According to a media source, the senior batter had a conversation with the selectors of the Indian National team and stated that he would be available for the Asia Cup later next month. Notably, the Indian team has a pretty tight schedule following the Asia cup to the T20 World Cup in Australia, starting in October.
“Virat had spoken to selectors that he would be available from the Asia Cup onwards. The first team players will hardly get rest from Asia Cup till end of World T20. Hence this is a two-week window after Windies tour when they can rest,” a source was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
