The Cricket West Indies on Monday announced the 15-member squad ahead of three three-match ODI series against India, The series is scheduled to begin from July 27, 2023. Notably, Nicholas Pooran and Jason Holder have been dropped from the selection and Keemo Paul is injured and unavailable while the left-handed batsman Shimron Hetmyer and fast bowler Oshane Thomas have been added to the squad.
The report said that Fast bowler Jayden Seales, leg-spinner Yannic Cariah and left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie are also included in the squad as they have recovered from injury after their surgery.
Lead Selector Haynes said:
“We welcome Oshane and Shimron back into the group. Both have played at the international level before, with some success, and we believe they will fit well into the set-up. Oshane brings pace and is a potential wicket-taker with the new ball. Shimron’s style of batting will offer a lot especially in the middle stage of the innings and he is also a potential ‘finisher’.” Lead Selector Haynes said
