Suryakumar Yadav was seen wearing wicketkeeper Sanju Samson’s jearsy in the 1st ODI match against the West Indies, This created confusion for the fans as to if Sanju Samson was playing on the ground even though he was not selected in the playing 11. According to the reports, SKY had earlier told about his jersey size to the management as the jersey given to him was ‘Medium’ but he wears a ‘Large’ size, The 32 years old did the photoshoot in his ‘Medium’ size jersey, expecting the new one to arrive by matchday. The Jearsy he got on the match day was ‘Meduim’ again and he had no option but to request Sanju Samson’s jersey which was ‘Large’ size.
BCCI Source:
“There was some size issue with his jersey. We were told about it two days before the game,” Indian Express quoted a BCCI source as saying.
“He will be receiving his new jersey after the second ODI as the BCCI has shipped it with Indian team players selected for the T20 series. Till then he will be wearing his teammate’s jersey while playing,” the Indian Express report added.
S Badrinath took to his official X account(Twitter) and posted a picture of Suryakumar Yadav wearing a Sanju jersey and criticised the selectors for not selecting Sanju Samson on the playing 11 and wrote:
