“Your place in the Indian team is like a rented house”: Aakash Chopra warns Shubman Gill

“Your place in the Indian team is like a rented house”: Aakash Chopra warns Shubman Gill

Former India batsman and Cricket commentator Aakash Chopra said Shubman Gill place is not permanent and he will have to leave if doesn’t perform, He continued to say that Gills position is like a rented house where you have to pay the rent (Perform in the match) and if you don’t pay then you have to vacate. Gill scored 7 of 9 balls in the second T20 match against West Indies at Providence Stadium where India lost the match by 2 wickets. The 23 years old has scored total 10 runs in 2 matches. West Indies is leading the 5-series by 2-0.

Aakash Chopra on his Official Youtube:

“Shubman Gill will have to score runs. He played extremely well in the IPL but here it seems like he is just forcing the issue a bit too much. He is trying to play a big shot off every delivery but that’s not the Shubman Gill we know. Your place in the Indian team is like a rented house, you haven’t bought it.” Chopra said.

“If you don’t pay the rent for four-five matches, you are asked to vacate the house. Everyone gets that much opportunity only. If someone has paid rent for six months because he has scored a lot of runs, he gets a little leeway. Shubman Gill is in that category but it cannot be permanent.” He added.
