Alex Hales scored his 4th century in T20 cricket as the Sydney Thunder made BBL 2021 history on Friday evening fight the Sydney Sixers. The Sydney Thunder finished with a score of 5/232, the highest-ever team total in BBL 2021 history, as they hit on to a 46-run win over their local opponents at the Adelaide Oval.
The win helping the Sydney Thunder end a run of 3 failure in a row as they supported their hopes of making the knockouts. The team can appreciate England opener Alex Hales for the victory.
Hales smashed an amazing century, bomb the Sydney Sixers bowlers to all corners of the park. He makes his ton off just 51 deliveries, hitting 8 sixes and 9 fours. Hales was helped by impressive support from England partner Sam Billings, captain Callum Ferguson and all-rounder Ben Cutting, as the Thunder roared their way back into the top three in the BBL 2021.
All six bowlers used by the Sydney Sixers went for at least 9.50 runs an over and the Men in Pink stand no chance against the six-hitting cannonade of the Sydney Thunder.
The defensive BBL champions did not approximate to the mammoth target set for them. They finished on 186/5, with Moises Henriques scoring a half-century on his return from the task with the national team.

Spite suffering a suppression beat to their arch-rivals, the Sixers quiet hold a 4-point lead over the Perth Scorchers at the top of the BBL 2021 standings. The Sixers currently have 32 points and have already qualified for the final match, with two games to go.
The Sydney Thunder now have 27 points, four over the sixth-placed Hobart Hurricanes.
With every team quiet having two games to play in the group point, the BBL knockouts race is set to go down to the wire. The only team not in the argument at the moment is the Melbourne Renegades.
