Duanne Olivier Full Biography

The tall right-arm Pretoria-born seam bowler named Duanne Olivier broke the headlines in world cricket when he ripped apart the Pakistani Batting lineup during their tour of South Africa. In a three-match test series, Olivier ended up taking 24 scalps in 3 matches with ten-wicket in a first test. He is affected by Kolpak deals when in February 2019 he signed a contract with Yorkshire for County Championship. However in 2021, after the Kolpak deal ended due to Brexit, which made him eligible to play for South Africa again.


After his destructive 2016-17 season with the ball, he was awarded  First-class Cricketer of the Season at Cricket South Africa’s annual awards. He carried his impressive form with the ball and hence added to the squad to face Sri Lanka which he made his Test debut against. Olivier made his ODI debut against Pakistan in 2019 but has yet to make a T20I debut. Early in his career, he has just played 15 matches for South Africa including 13 tests and 2 ODI’s.
