Chennai Super Kings (CSK) cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad’s dismal IPL 2022 campaign remained on Thursday when he got run out for one against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
After LSG opted to bowl start at the Brabourne Stadium, Robin Uthappa got CSK off to a good start, with the scoreboard reading 26-0 after 2-overs.
With Gaikwad on strike in the following over, LSG pacer Andrew Tye pitched one up, struck the batter on the pads and went for a loud appeal. Perhaps lost in the minute, Gaikwad didn’t look at his partner as well as strolled down the crease for a single.
He was at least 3-feet out when he realized that the ball had rolled down to Ravi Bishnoi at the point. The fielder didn’t think two times and went for a direct hit, catching the batter short.
He was hit in front of the stumps, and he would have been out LBW except for any inside edge. The IPL 2021 Orange Cap winner got out for a 4-ball duck in CSK’s last game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR); he has secured just one run in 2-games this season.
Ravi Bishnoi dismisses Robin Uthappa, CSK continues the rampage despite Ruturaj Gaikwad’s exit.
Uthappa keeps his rampage after Ruturaj Gaikwad’s dismissal, racing to his mid-century off just 27 deliveries.
Although, Bishnoi came in again to change the speed with the ball. The leg-spinner knocked Uthappa on the pads with a pacy slider. The umpire turned down his attraction, but LSG’s review showed 3-reds.
Bishnoi and revs on the ball. The dip. 👏 👏
You expect him to be a force for India in limited overs. Just look after him.

Moeen Ali carried the baton ahead with a 22-ball 35 but was clean-bowled after losing a wild slog off Avesh Khan. The Men in Yellow have done a superb job to secure above 100 after the first 10-overs and would look to use their batting depth to get a powerful total.
