Australia’s debutant Todd Murphy admitted that Virat Kohli‘s wicket was his highlight of day 2 of the primary Test in Nagpur, among his other 4-wickets, as he joined an elite group to take a fifer on debut. The 22-year-old said that he has managed Kohli for quite a long time and that it will stay with him eternally.
The Victorian was Australia’s best bowler on a hard day 2 as he asserted figures of 36-9-82-5 to keep the callers in the contest. Murphy, whose maiden international scalp was KL Rahul on day one, dismissed Ravichandran Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara, Kohli, and KS Bharat. Yet, he was lucky to get Kohli’s scalp as he edged one down the leg side, with Alex Carey taking a clever catch.

When requested which wicket was his favourite, the youngster said that Kohli’s wicket was highlighted and wished for one on debut. Yet, he was happy to have declared a fifer.
The 22-year-old tell on the host broadcaster:
“The one that obtained Virat out. It wasn’t my best ball of the day. It was a dream come true feeling for me to get Virat Kohli’s wicket. I watched him for so long. He is a hero for huge number of guys, it’ll be with me evrytime. Coming into the game, I was sort of expecting to get one wicket at least. To complete the day with 5 on debut is a special day. It’s been a pretty surreal week, it’s all happened quite fast.”
Kohli, who hasn’t been at his most useful in Test cricket, hit 2 elegant boundaries off Australia’s 2-spinners before passing for 12. Despite Murphy’s 5-wicket haul, India edged forward with a 144-run lead with an unbroken 81-run stand between Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel.
