Hailed from the streets of Jalalabad, Qais made his entry early in professional cricket by representing Afghanistan 2018 ICC U-19 World Cup. He ended up being the highest wicket-taker for his side. In the same year, Qais was added to the squad for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. Because of his extraordinary performances, Qais was added to the Test squad to face Bangladesh.
