The Right-arm fast bowler Umesh Yadav has been added to India’s squad for the 3rd and the 4th Test against England. Yadav had given the fitness test on Sunday, was formally added to the squad on Monday, the match is starting on February 24, which will be a pink-ball, day-night affair. Umesh Yadav will be available for selection for the match at the new stadium in Motera. The 4th match of this series will be starting from March 4 which is going to be a traditional red-ball game.

Umesh Yadav is replaced by Shardul Thakur in the Indian squad. Thakur recently released for the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy – India’s domestic 50-overs competition where he will turn out for Mumbai.
He was expected to be part of the squad once he cleared his fitness test and after that, he will be joining the fast-bowling group that has Ishant Sharma(who will be playing his 100th Test), Mohammad Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah.

Yadav played overall 48 Test matches where 28 have been played in India, where he has been more effective than other matches, He also took an overall 148 wickets at 30.54, In the home Matches, he took 96 wickets at 24.54.
Umesh Yadav has enjoyed and the likelihood of India bringing in a pacer in place of a spinner due to the match being a pink-ball one, Yadav could return to the playing XI straightaway. He was going to play his first match after picking up a calf injury during the Boxing Day Test against Australia.
