In a strange turn of events, a snake interrupted the 2nd T20I between India and South Africa on Sunday, October 2, at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati(Assam).
After the 7th over of the Indian innings, some South African fielders sighted a snake crawling on the cricket ground and informed the on-field officials about it. The ground staff hurry in with the necessary equipment and immediately removed the reptile.
An unauthorized drinks break was taken at that juncture. Although, the game wasn’t stopped for long, and the game resumed after a few minutes. Here is the video of the unusual incident below:

Especially, Assam, like other North Eastern sides of the country, has a lot of snakes and snake detection have been a common phenomenon in the region.
At the same time, the ongoing 2nd T20I of the series is of utmost significance for Proteas. Having lost the opening encounter by 8 wickets, success is a must for the visitors in order to stay afloat in the series.
India is off to a great start in the 2nd T20I against South Africa
South Africa won the toss and chose to field first on the surface. Openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul watched in brilliant touch, making the most of the powerplay overs by securing some quick runs.
The 2 batters stitched together a bright partnership of 96 runs off just 56 deliveries to allow the Men in Blue with an ideal platform in the encounter. Captain Rohit Sharma secured 47 (37 balls), while Rahul struck a fine half-century before being dismissed for 57 (28 balls).

Cricketer Keshav Maharaj took the wickets of both the set batters to bring South Africa back into the match after India’s initial blitz.
Sharma was early to depart in the 10th over. Rahul gets back to the pavilion soon after, dropping to Maharaj in the 12th over.
